Badly-paced, goofy, third-rate fantasy action fare, and it baffles me that Cage accepts roles like this. The man could get really awesome, innovative roles... he sort of grazes that ceiling when he takes on roles like Bad Lieutenant and Kick Ass, but he waters it down so much with bad stuff. And he casts himself against type, not in a strategic way, but in a way that feels like he's just kicking a fire hydrant, over and over.<br /><br />Season of the Witch felt like Con Air in Halloween costumes.
